Social mission : Embracing neurodiversity

QUALIFICACTION embraces neurodiversity

QUALIFICACTION, the business training division of the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board, has chosen to support a reality dear to its heart: neurodiversity. Our school board has long been recognized for its initiatives to promote the inclusion and integration of students with special needs. It therefore goes without saying that its business training division will pursue this social mission with these individuals who, once they are adults, attempt to find their place in the labour market.

Neurodiversity refers to neurological differences in the human brain regarding sociability, learning, attention, mood and other mental functions. Such differences may lead to conditions such as autism, attention deficit disorder with or without hyperactivity, dyslexia or Asperger’s syndrome.

We are sensitive to the day-to-day challenges of neurodivergent individuals and firmly believe that these people represent a great asset to the workplace and to society in general. This is why we wish to highlight the inclusion initiatives offered by a number of organizations.

Watch out for our posts on our social media and our newsletters to discover the variety of resources that celebrate the diversity of neurocognitive functioning and reveal its full potential!
