Social Integration Services (SIS)

Our Social Integration Services class is designed to enable an adult who is experiencing adjustment difficulties of a psychological, intellectual, social or physical nature to gain access to individualized learning that fosters the acquisition of basic skills to prepare him/her for an active role in society and , where applicable, the pursuit of further studies.

Our program promotes student individuality while encouraging teamwork to build skills and abilities. All students are encouraged to participate in work placement activities to practice the skills they have acquired in the program. Classes run four (4)  days per week with one day of field experience outside the center.

Admission of Adults into the Social Integration Services Program

Adults are admitted to the SIS program not because of a particular disability or the handicap associated with it, but rather on the basis of the social difficulties and challenges experienced by the individual. However, the adults’ disabilities are taken into consideration in the formation and the teaching that takes place in the classes.

They have won regional awards for their Entrepreneurial activities and will be starting a special organic gardening project this spring.
